We must have gone to every display home and company - the difference with Better Built was the relationship we struck with Neel and Shamini Lochan - they treated our home design like it was theirs. They were honest, open , upfront, provided feedback & challenged us - it all lead to a final design and price that wee were so happy with. We were then worried that once Neel past our file into to Head office, we would become a number .
Last few days have been spent in external work such as installation of lower roof, pending brickwork, cleanup etc. Work on the inside has also started - electrical and air-conditioning rough-ins have been complete. It was such a beautiful sight to see scaffolding up last week! Which not the builders fault but maybe the brand maybe could be revied by the builder. Thank You to the Better Built team who have built our dream home.

We found the BBH team were flexible in giving us time and options to change or modify their original design. She dealt with us patiently, and always promptly responded to my queries around cost estimates for something or the other upgrade we had in mind. We subsequently booked-in electrical and other internal appointments and finally met with Mel for internal selection appointment in early March 2018. We had a great experience with her in going through the selections. Hiring a contractor?
Tiles would have given the house a more traditional look, however we are equally happy with how CB roof has turned out. With the Labour day long weekend coming up, not expecting much work over the next week. Meanwhile, Better Built Homes has continued to receive good reviews from other clients, and fingers crossed we are anticipating a good outcome at the end of it all.
We found that this business has an Instagram page, where they communicate with their customers using images and videos. This is usually an indication that the business has some visual aspects that it wants to showcase. We really struggled to find a decent honest builder we considered doing owner builder towards the end of it then we found better built. If you’re looking to build your home and want your builder to be trustworthy, responsive, professional, on-time and demonstrates a high level of care, I would highly recommend Better Built. Better Built Homes met all our criteria and could not have been more helpful. Everyone we dealt with explained everything in detail and explained the various stages of construction to us so that we knew what was happening.

BBH wanted us to get our own landscape plan which they would use for DA approval. Our case was finally sent for CDC approval in Mid June, and we signed the HIA contract in June end. In July, we submitted the driveway application to the council, and provided unconditional bank loan approval to BBH. We were provided with the final set of construction plans, and the construction was then scheduled to commence from 27th Aug 2018. We have heard horror reviews with friends and family having built prior to us so we braced ourselves on what was to come, to our surprise we experienced the opposite.
Be wary of an abnormally low bid, they are not worth the risk. These underpriced projects often do not end well for the homeowner, choose a contractor you trust and can clearly communicate with. BuildZoom has made the bid collection process extremely simple .

Like many others we spent a lot of time wondering the many builders show homes, searching for just the right home for us. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t find a house that met our requirements and any questions regarding changes were met with comments saying that’s difficult and costly. You can use our building permit search to see the contractors who are active in your neighborhood and the projects currently taking place. The standard board recommendation is to get at least three written bids before hiring a contractor. Do not automatically accept the lowest bid - an abnormally low bid may indicate the contractor made a mistake and is not including the same work quoted by their competitors. Its builder "Better Built Homes" was a limited volume builder, but surprisingly had a large number of excellent reviews. So we set out to see their display home in Oran Park and meet their sales rep on Fathers' Day 2017. The BBH inclusions were generous, and above all we loved the house design. Even though our land was not yet ready, we had a draft engineering plan for the site, and signed up with BBH to do the intial assessment and tender presentation. Neel gave us a rough estimate of the costs based on assumptions. Jeff presented the tender in Oct 2017, and we found the costs were in line with our inital assessment.
Brickwork finally started last week, and it was good to see the external walls starting to appear. We have been in our house for over a year now and wow the work is excellent the service after the build is amazing and just top quality all round. We are extremely happy with the quality of our new home and we can truely say it was a wonderful experience and not like those horror stories you hear when building a home.
